Tension Headache Relief Without Medication

I have dealt with tension headaches for many, many years. As long as I can remember, actually. I am just one of those types of people who tend to carry a lot of their stress and tension in the neck and shoulder area, which is very common. After
being put on different pain relievers and medications by countless doctors, I have come to find that a few tips will alleviate the stress and tightness in your shoulders and neck without having to load up on pills. Actually, I have also learned that medications that you may take for your headaches, can actually start to be the very cause for your headaches. If you take a lot of over the counter pain relievers like Ibuprofen or Acetaminophen, they can cause what is called a rebound headache if you don’t keep taking them. Your body actually gets used to having that medication, and if you miss a dose, a headache will start. If this is the case for you, then you will have to break yourself of this habit before the following tips will help you. You may have to go through a few days of headaches but the goal is to get your body back to it’s normal state with no medications in your system. Once you are not dependent on over the counter medications daily, then try some of the following steps.StretchingI have learned from numerous chiropractors and doctors that regular stretching can do wonders for people who suffer from tension headaches. Try to do these stretches in the morning when you wake up, and again at night before you go to bed. Also, do them during the day if you feel tension building in your neck and shoulders. The idea behind this regular stretching is to get the muscles to be more loose on a regular basis so they don’t tighten up as quickly and cause a headache. You will have to stick to this and do it regularly so your body can get used to it and adjust. It’s just like working out. You have to stick with it to see results, and though they won’t happen immediately, the outcome will be worth it. Stretch 1

Product Review: Pepto Bismol Original

When I start feeling my stomach rumbling, I knew to reach for Pepto Bismol. Pepto Bismol gets rid of diarrhea and nausea. Thankfully I don’t get diarrhea often, but when I do, I take Pepto Bismol for it’s soothing relief. Not too long ago, we went to a restaurant, and against my better
judgment I had a very spicy meal. Normally spicy food doesn’t bother me at all so I don’t know why it did this time. The food was absolutely delicious, so I think I just over did it. When I got home, I could feel an episode coming on, so I reached for my pink bottle of Pepto Bismol. I took two tablespoons of it and hoped it work soon. Pepto Bismol claims to quell nausea as well. Pepto Bismol, in my opinion is not the most pleasant tasting medication to take, but I suppose it’s better than having diarrhea. After about one hour, my stomach rumbling slowed down a little, but I still didn’t feel 100%. I did feel kind of nauseous before taking the Pepto, but it went away after I took it, so I guess it really does work to relieve nausea as well. The label claims it gives soothing relief for 5 symptoms and they are heartburn, indigestion, upset stomach, nausea and diarrhea. If you are going to take Pepto Bismol, make sure you have not taken any aspirin recently because one of the active ingredients in Pepto is an aspirin like substance. There is one negative thing that happens to me on occasion when I take Pepto Bismol. Every once in a while, my tongue turns a darker color from the Pepto. I understand this is due to the other active ingredient, bismuth. My neighbor said her doctor recommended Pepto Bismol for her to take on a trip abroad. He said it has the potential to stave off stomach bacteria. He said she could take it as a prevention measure so she doesn’t get a case of diarrhea. She did take it for a few days, and she came home unscathed by diarrhea.

Posted in Dogs

JustMe asked: I boarded my dog at a new place. A few days after she got home she started limping and was lethargic. I took her to the vet and she tested positive for lyme disease. She is on antibiotics and is fine now, but I can’t help blaming the new kennel. Could she have [...]

The Best Celebrity Gossip Websites: Perez Hilton’s Blog and The Superficial

As I sit here and reflect on Anna Nicole’s death, I am faced with a very disturbing fact of life. We as humans LOVE gossip. We love to read about it, listen to it and do it ourselves. Especially when it is about celebrities. Ironically, a few days before Anna Nicole’s demise, I wrote an article about celebrity death and scandal and how much the general public feeds into and holds such a hungry interest in what the media has to say as far as rumors go. It’s very sand that such nasty gossip follows around
people, even in death. Maybe especially in death. There are a number of popular celebrity gossip websites out on the web right now. All of them are entertaining to read, but you must really take them with a grain of salt. Especially when reading some of the vulgar and immature comments that readers leave on the sites. Here are two of the more popular ones that I have been to. Perez Hilton. Perez Hilton, real name Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr., is a very popular celebrity gossip blogger. His blog, at one point nicknamed “Hollywood’s Most Hated Website” is known for showing unflattering pictures of celebrities, including little nasty captions he writes himself over the pictures. Often times an picture of a woman celebrity standing is shown with little dots drawn between the legs by Perez, which are supposed to be urine marks. The grammar and spelling on the site is not the best, and the site itself is very, very pink, but it’s gossip, so no one cares. The juicier the better.
