It should therefore look “inviting”. On entering the reception, there should be no sense of clutter. If visitors need to be greeted, a reception desk near but placed at a slight angle to the door is recommended. This will then invite people to enter the room without blocking their entrance. A desk placed directly opposite the door, for instance, might appear to be barring someone’s entry, as if turning them away before they’ve even arrived! Also remember that both “entrance” and “exit” should be clearly marked, as should the direction that doors open if this might cause confusion.Furniture in the Workplace and Feng ShuiFurther into the building, and if there are lots of angles, sharp edges and corners, these can cause “secret arrows” or negative rays of energy. Secret arrows directed towards either workers and visitors will affect their health and their relationships. These should, therefore, be blocked with plants, screens and paintings.If you work in an office, think about your seating arrangements. You should not, for instance, sit with your back to a window or an open door. Neither do you want to face others in the room directly, otherwise this can bring negative or hostile attitudes.Rooms should be kept neat and as free from clutter as possible.
