How long does it take? I started MediFast. This is the 5th day. I’m not physically hungry but want real food!

I had a lady friend who was very overweight and it took her 6 months to lose 80 lbs on it and 3 months to gain it back, plus an additional 20 lbs.

Let me encourage you to keep up the good work! It takes about 21 days for your body to get used to the decrease in calories. Once you make it to that point things will be easier and you will experience an increase in energy. If you stick with the plan it will work for you. When you reach your target it will be important to think about finding another plan to help you learn how to eat normal food and still keep off the weight. For example, Weight Watchers uses the point system with real food so that you can monitor how much you are eating, but with real food.
I think that starting with MediFast to lose the weight safely and quickly is wise, but you need some follow up with another plan.
Good luck and keep up the great work!
