Hey I intend to go to the Northampton State Hospital in Massachusetts early to catch, but they have signs on the buildings and say to asbestos, cancer and lung disease. I am only about an hour, but I will not go too contaminated. What would be wearing the face mask right? I thought that doctors use, or paper, you can buy at Home Depot. Are they safe? I would rather not buy Gesichtsmaske.DankeDanke and for the tip, I did not think much time would be bad. . . The place does not work, it sits there empty, asbestos fibers should not be disturbed.
The asbestos areas should be cordoned off. Dont enter any areas where the asbestos is actively being worked with.
Just going into the building, taking pictures and leaving within an hour, your asbestos exposure will be very minimal. A mask isnt neccessary, though if you want to wear one by all means, a standard fine mesh mask such as a surgical mask should suffice.
