After seeing that America has change for the better since you now see some Chinese actors and actresses that are becoming famous here in America, it was a long road for most to start off. They made me so proud on being Chinese-American (I’m 100% Chinese but born in Seattle, WA) where I
realize that I am so lucky on being in the” land of the free. ” I decided to compile a list of famous Chinese actors and actresses that most people know here in America.1. Bruce Lee- He was the first Chinese person who tried his hardest to make it in America as an actor by making kung fu movies. He was born in San Francisco and grew up speaking Cantonese. He fought alongside with Jackie Chan and Chuck Norris who is famous on the show called “The Texas Ranger” which USA channel might still be playing his show. His grave is now alongside his son, Brandon Lee, in the Lakeview Cemetery here in Seattle, WA.2. Jackie Chan- Everyone knows who he is. He was raised in Australia while he was a baby and when he first started off, he didn’t have that much luck on getting audiences to accept his fighting movies just because he was Chinese. He was in one of Bruce Lee’s movie and became friends with him. He made a name for himself even more with Chris Tucker in “The Rush Hour” where they made three different series.3. Michelle Yeoh- She was famous after she appeared in one of the James Bond movies. She had shown that she knows how to fight and does her own stunts without any stunt doubles on the fighting scenes. As a female, she had shown great strength that even being in a male dominated world, female and male are equal when it comes to the fighting area.4. Zhang Ziyi- She started off doing Chinese movies in mainland China and when the opportunity came to her to be in the Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon since Shu Qi had to decline it she became really famous here in the United States. Despite the fact that she doesn’t know how to speak English that much, she is learning. She appear in the Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon with Michelle Yeoh and the next actor on the list, Chow Yun-Faat.
