Is it possible to misdiagnose non-Hodgkin’s as mesothelioma?

Posted in Asbestos

My late husband was exposed to asbestos, but he died of what is considered untreatable Hodgkin. I do not believe that and 10 years later, still seeking answers.

If you really want to pursue this question, ask for a copy of all his pathology reports. If you still want to investigate after reading those, then you would need to arrange for and pay for an independent review of his pathology slides by a hematopathologist.

I don’t know how, they look nothing alike radiologically or pathologically. You don’t say how old your husband was, but you should also know it takes 25 years for mesothelioma to manifest. Strange things do happen and anything is possible, but I don’t think this is very likely. If you want to pursue this you should get all of his records ASAP as they are usually kept 10 years so it will soon be too late if it is not already.
