Many people fear public speaking because they have communication apprehension, but there are many ways to alleviate the communication jitters. Some ways of preventing speech anxiety are: being prepared, knowing your intro. and conclusion, knowing your audience, and selecting an appropriate topic that fits your audience. (Ch. 2, pg 54). The speech delivery methods are: Impromptu, Memorized, Manuscript, and Extemporaneous.(Ch. 2, pg 55) Both Impromptu and Extemporaneous are ineffective methods of giving a speech in this class, and will result in an automatic F. The speaker should use a maximum of 5 cue cards, or highlight main points from their outline, but avoid reading directly from it to the class. While giving the speech “you gestures should be natural, you should avoid repetitive gestures, and your nonverbals should be consistent with the spoken message.” (Ch. 2, pg 58) It is important that the speaker analyze his/her audience and that he/she understand their topic in relation to the audience’s demographics.

Picking the right restaurant for a first date can be quite a challenge. The first thing you should do is gather as much information about the person as possible. This involves a little bit of stalking the other person if you can like on the internet profile web sites such as MySpace and Facebook. See what the other person’s interests are. If they are a good looking girl and are pretty down to earth, I would suggest someplace that will impress but is not too expensive. For most guys, you will have to pay for the dinner or lunch for your date so you don’t want to be spending more than $30 for your date on the first date. More expensive restaurants should come later in the relationship when you know the person and are heavily involved. For all you know, you could hate your date and want to get out of the restaurant as soon as possible. The restaurant doesn’t have to be too romantic, although you certainly don’t want to pick a “family restaurant” with children running around. Ideally you would like a place that has candle lit tables, possibly flowers and has a nice ambiance. You also want to pick a restaurant that isn’t always packed because you don’t want to feel like you are being rushed out of the restaurant. You should be spending at least an hour at that restaurant talking to your date and eating a great meal. That brings me to my next point about food. Make sure that you speak to your friends about the restaurant you are going to if you have never been there before. The food at the restaurant does not have to be spectacular but it does have to taste good. Bad tasting food can ruin a first date. For the service, ideally you would like nice waiters and waitresses and if you can a charming host. The alternative is to have a waiter or waitress who leaves you alone with your date. You don’t want someone constantly coming over to your table to make sure that everything is OK.

Why Extreme Weight Loss is a Bad Idea

A person who experiences extreme weight loss would lose a great deal of weight rather quickly, or they would lose more weight than is medically safe. Using methods such as vomiting, laxative abuse, and skipping meals can also be classified as extreme. By these definitions, one would think
that extreme weight loss is dangerous or unhealthy. For an overweight person, experiencing extreme weight loss is coveted, in spite of the fact that such weight loss can make them sick. After all, who wouldn’t want to go from fat to slim practically overnight?
In spite of the fact that extreme weight loss is not a good idea, there are still thousands of websites that advocate extreme weight loss. Of course, these websites are selling a product that will supposedly help with such weight loss.
Losing weight at an unhealthy rate through can actually be counter intuitive. According to Dukehealth.org, “Adolescent girls who try to lose weight by extreme measures such as vomiting, laxative abuse and skipping meals are actually more likely to become obese than girls who eat a high-fat diet.” This is why many heavy adults report dieting from a very young age.
For weight loss that is actually sustainable, a person needs to lose weight at a slow rate. After all, if it took years to gain a lot of weight, to take it off safely, one need to lose weight at the same rate. By slowly changing the way you eat and workout, slow and steady weight loss will become a way of life instead of the dreaded “D” word.
If it is medically necessary for you to lose weight quickly, it must be done under a doctor’s care. Bariatric surgery, for example will cause extreme weight loss due to surgery and close physician monitoring. The Technology in a LCD Monitor
Liquid Crystal display or LCD monitor is a thin and flat device for display. It is made by large number of color or monochromatic pixels which are arrayed in way of a light source or a reflector. It uses very small amount of electric power and hence is used often in battery powered
electronic devices. The technology used is very much dissimilar to CRT technology which is used by many desktop monitors. It was used only on notebook computers for a very long time. Only recently they have been offered as an alternative to CRT monitors. They take up very less desk space and are much lighter than the CRT monitors. But they are also quite expensive. Each pixel of LCD monitor display has a layer of aligned molecules between two electrodes which are transparent and two polarizing filters. Because there is no liquid crystal between the aligned polarizing filters, light which has passed through the first filter will be blocked by the second polarizer. The surface which is in contact with the crystal is treated to align it in particular direction. The direction of alignment is defined by direction of rubbing. Resolution, in terms of horizontal and vertical size expressed in pixels, is native supported for the best display effects. This is one of the things that sets LCD monitor apart. Dot Pitch is defined as the distance between two adjacent pixels. It is the minimum for sharper image. Each pixel is divided into three cells, or sub pixels. These are colored red, green and blue. Each sub pixel can be controlled independently for millions of combinations and hence colors. Older CRT monitors use phosphors for sub pixel structure. The analog electron beam though does not hit the exact sub pixel.

How can goodness be a partner with wickedness? How can light live with darkness?” (NLT). Here’s why: any dating relationship that you enter into is a test to see if you can eventually be married. If this person doesn’t give their life to Christ, you marrying them condones their unbelief. Of course, we aren’t supposed to judge non believers, but we are supposed to live lives that allow them to see the light of Christ. Along with that, there will be division in your household. Most importantly, the danger is that you’ll back away from your convictions and drift away from the faith.
