Public speaking is stressful for the majority of people. However, the fear of public speaking, or glossophobia as it is called, is more serious in some than others. Many of us would love to dodge the problem entirely, but in some cases it’s absolutely unavoidable. For instance,
giving a toast as the best man at a wedding or a college presentation leaves you no choice but to just go through it. The good news is that there are effective methods to help improve and correct your fears, allowing you to give great speeches. Here are just a few things to help you do this:Relax.Start off the process by relaxing yourself. Most people believe that certain things in life are stressful, and public speaking is no exception. The truth is, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to give nice, polished public presentations. The people you see giving speeches in front of large groups of people seem to have it down, but keep in mind that they too once started being terrified to speak. Their hands were trembling, voice felt as if it would give out, and there thoughts were cluttered in their mind. Does that sound familiar? If so, just know that they were able to eliminate their fears and so can you. Everyone is human, and if they are capable of doing something then you are too. Be confident with yourself. Change Your Perception of Public SpeakingA public speaker is an idea, almost like a job, and many people strive too hard to bring forth certain qualities that are necessary with being a public speaker. However, that’s not the way to proceed. You’re not trying to be a public speaker; you’re trying to be yourself. The majority of public speeches have gone wrong because the speaker tried to be something or someone that they’re not. Speaking in public is one of the few times that you can fully be yourself in the presence of others. Otherwise, your audience will see right through your false personality. Make your speech feel natural.
How to Overcome Your Fear of Public Speaking
What Happened to Real World News?
When Did Entertainment News Become the #1 Headline for All News Networks? Is it just me, or are there others that agree, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are not big news? Why oh why do they make news headlines? Also, is “Dancing with the Stars” something that is so pressing for me to know and understand that I need to see
it as I drag myself out of bed and turn on the television each morning just wanting to see the news?I’ve tried different networks for the news and still I find the entertainment world topping each of them. Please don’t misunderstand; I enjoy entertainment as much as the next person. I simply don’t believe it needs to be the top story of the day on every single network. Somehow, I can’t find myself worrying about whether a wedding took place in Italy or Austria, unless of course it were my own or that of a dear friend or family member. I can’t seem to make myself care who designed their clothes. I change the channel again and again and still I see the same things. When will they design a channel that covers news? I want real news. I want news that makes a difference in my day. I want news that helps me understand my world. I can’t even keep up with all of the scrolling and stock markets and sports scores on the same screen. I get so confused at this world of multi-tasking that my head aches before I can even begin to make sense of much of it. Try as I might, I always tend to miss exactly what I was waiting for, whatever it may be. Luckily, we can now rewind live TV. Of course, when I get to what I finally wanted to hear, it says nothing more than, “more on that story in the next half hour”. My thought immediately after hearing that is, “My goodness, I have to be at work in the next half hour”. I just wish I could find a news network that didn’t feel entertainment news needs to top the list. Again, I’m not saying anything against entertainment news. If that’s what you wish to hear, you’re in luck. It’s everywhere!

CRT Monitor Verses LCD Monitor
Why You Should Go for an LCD Monitor Instead of a CRT OneDuring the times of PC discovery and first applications, the output was not on screen display but rather on papers punched by a type writer or a similar device. Advances in the computer industry led to the introduction of video display of the work we do with computer. A great breakthrough
was realized when monitors could be made from Cathode Ray Tubes (CRT) that had been applied in the make of home television sets.Recently, monitors that utilize the technology of flowing molecules to interact with light and phenomenally affect the wavelength of light have been introduced into the market, posing a competition with the traditional CRT screens. These monitors are generally known as LCD monitors and are widely accepted in the computer industry. The main differences between a CRT monitor and an LCD monitor is the technology that controls their functionality. CRT monitor utilizes the knowledge of high speed moving electrons from a high voltage cathode, passing in between electron deflectors that act as control unit controlling the specific point where the electron will hit on a phosphorous coated screen, where it will cause an emission of light seen by the eye. These emissions are of high wavelengths of light, coming with them risks to the user, and due to great impact on the screen, creating a problem with electrostatic.LCD or Liquid Crystal Display, are made by incorporating a molecule that moves like a liquid along a current of electricity coming from a transistor. The light passing in a field of electric charge will be interfered with in a specific manner, and will be filtered out according to the nature of the molecule crystal it passes through. Placing three of such crystals perpendicular to each other will control the color of the light reaching the display screen.
Gossip and God
Gossip: SYNONYMS gossip, blab, tattle. These verbs mean to engage in or communicate idle, indiscreet talk: gossiping about the neighbors; can’t keep a secret—he always blabs; is disliked for tattling on mischief-makers.Rumor or talk of a personal, sensational, or intimate nature. A person who habitually spreads intimate or private rumors or facts.
Consider the words of your mouth; it is wrong to use your tongue for gossip. Rather, use your mouth for good: talk with God, pray for others, and speak the Word. Lord Many times we speak without thinking about what we have said. We speak without realizing the way it will effect others. Lord You have commanded us to not gossip. You have commanded us to love our neighbors as ourselves. Lord help us to remember to ask You before we open our mouths ” is this gossip, is this truth. Will this hurt anyone. Will this help. Why does the person we are speaking to need to know this.” Lord we also need to know that sometimes You wish for us to tell the truth about a situation in which we have been wronged by others in order for them to be held accountable for their behavior. Lord help us to remember to do this according to your words in Matthew 18 A Brother Who Sins Against You15″If your brother sins against you,Lord help us to know when to be bold enough to do what You have commanded in this passage. Lord help those who are in the position to hold the offender accountable when they have sinned against others to do as You have commanded and hold them accountable. Lord help us to know the difference between gossip and holding others accountable. Help us to not bury our heads in the sand and ignore when a wrong has been done to a part of the body. Help us also to remember the difference between gossip and accountability. Let us not hurt others with our mouth. Let us speak only the truth in Kindness and with the Love only You our Abba Father can give. Lord hold our tongue and release it with only words You can give words of healing words of love. Healer of our soul let our word be like balm to the soul of one another. Lord we all need a vacation from the gossip of this world help each of us to be that oasis to others. In the Name of Your Son Jesus Christ, Amen
Why Cantonese is the Most Powerful Chinese Dialect in the World
Mostly for Two Reasons: The Chinatowns of the World and Hong KongI firmly believe Cantonese is the most powerful Chinese dialect. As not everyone is familiar with the Chinese language and its innumerable dialects, let me start with an exposition on the concept of dialects and whether or not some can be considered separate languages altogether.English and Spanish are probably the most well known languages on this side of the world. In fact, they’re the two most commonly used languages in the
world. But are they really just two languages? In America alone, we have English from the West Coast, English from the East Coast, English from the South, and so on. I assume anyone reading this article has had the good fortune of speaking with someone from a different region. Did you understand them? My guess is that aside from a few colloquialisms and an occasional urge to giggle, you understood them quite sufficiently. What about Britain and Australia? You don’t have to have been there to know what a British accent or Australian accent sounds like. I can understand Brits pretty well but have a little trouble with Aussies. Still, it doesn’t sound like a different language to me. A whole different set of vocabulary, but not quite different enough to classify it as a different language. So, English is English, right? This is not a rhetorical question, but for the sake of my argument in this article, I’m going to say a simple yes. You can have your own opinions.Onto Spanish. Now this language is a little trickier. With so many different countries that have Spanish as their official language, it’s no wonder that there’s a variety of regional speeches, but are they dialects in the sense that if you speak standard Castilian Spanish you can’t understand them? Probably. Catalan is a tough one. And that’s the only example I can think of. I have no problem understanding Mexicans, Costa Ricans, Guatemalans, Peruvians, and Argentineans.
The Future of Broadband: A Glimpse Ahead
Broadband in the Near FutureWhat shape the internet will take in the future is wide open and very exciting. The way we connect to it, is also very interesting, and both are ever evolving. One thing is for sure, most governments and all business’s want internet access available to everyone on the planet. How
this may be achieved in a reliable, timely and cost effective manor, using the technologies that are available now and on the near horizon is what we’ll cover here. Broadband over Power lines (BPL) seems to fit the three basic requirements. PBL uses a different frequency spectrum than electricity so they can co-exist on the same line. The idea here is that you could have internet access by plugging a BPL modem into any electric socket in the world. Current tests are achieving speeds up to 45 mbs, using a DS2 chip and several companies claim that 200 mbs will be achievable in the near future. There have been several world wide tests run, and tests are now spreading out across the United Sates. These tests have shown a possible problem with shared lines, which slows speeds down, similar to cable. Another concern is the complaint, that it causes interference with radio signals, especialy licensed radio operators. Commonly know as “HAM” operators. This is of special concern because “HAM” radio is used as a communications link in times of disaster, when other systems are down. This interference is due to the fact that most of the power lines are above ground and lightly shielded. How well these problems can be addressed, will have a great bearing on its world wide application.

Broadband Basics for the Home and Road
Broadband Overview and Security TipsFirst off, let me begin by saying just how far this area of technology has come in the last few years. There are four main types for home, mobile or small business.1. DSL (digital subscriber line) is run thru your existing phone line. Connection speeds from 268 kbs (kilobytes/second) to 8 mbs (megabites/second, 1 megabytes=1000 kilobytes) for normal use. Speeds are “caped” at different price points for the plan you choose. Speed and
availability are also determined by the distance you are from a phone company switching station. You can go to your phone company’s web site to see if it’s available to you. You can also see if any independent offer it in your area. There are several sites that check this and show you offers that might be in your area. You can find them by searching “DSL isp” (internet service provider) at your favorite search site. This technology as we know it today started in the mid to late 80’s, with the base technology in the 50’s. There are new versions and speeds becoming available as ongoing improvements. There are also systems that have dedicated lines. T1 lines are more expensive and not practical for most home users, so I won’t cover them.2. Cable runs in with your cable TV. hookup .The first cable modems came on the market around 1999. Speeds are capable of up to 20 mbs but are usually “caped” lower. Cable speeds are affected by the number of other people that share your line.ie; your apartment or condo building, the neighborhood you live. Usually you’ll get about 7, 8 mbs.You can get cable internet without the TV part, but they price packages. You see them on TV all the time. Cable is the most wide spread type service providers.
